South Africa's pop culture fraternity is still mourning the sad passing of Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, who was known as AKA.
The late artist shared a close friendship with football legend Benni McCarthy and the Manchester United Strikers coach shared a touching tribute for the fallen musician.

Benni AKA
AKA's untimely death rocked the South African public over the weekend, including our nation's football fraternity.
Clubs such as Mamelodi Sundowns, Swallows and Kaizer Chiefs all paid tribute to the late award-winning artist.

McCarthy, who's currently on Manchester United's backroom staff, the club that AKA staunchly supported, also shared a tribute to his friend:
When looking at duos best moments, they were both connected by their burning passion for the beautiful game and of course, music.
McCarthy made a surprise cameo on AKA's 2013 track 'Jealousy' from his album 'Levels' released in 2014. The then Orlando Pirates striker was dribbling a young AKA in a video that also featured Bonang Matheba.
On AKA's hit 'Fela In Versace' he references McCarthy's iconic verse on TKZee's 'Shibobo' when he said: "Hey! Lekker, lekker vis and chips!"
That song and verse, took the country by storm ahead of Bafana Bafana's first ever World Cup appearance in France, 1998.
When McCarthy secured the Man United gig, the late rap great took to IG to express his delight for his fellow Cape Town native:
AKA also regarded McCarthy as the greatest South African footballer of all time and when he won his first trophy with Cape Town City, the late rap star posted on IG to congratulate him:
Back in 2015, AKA travelled alongside McCarthy and SuperSport to the UEFA Champions League final in Berlin, where Barcelona overcame Juventus in a convincing 3-1 victory.
