Salah Helps Reds Bounce Back, Mane Stars For Bayern

Group A

Liverpool 2-0 Rangers

Liverpool clinched back-to-back wins in the UEFA Champions League group stages after beating Rangers 2-0 at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp re-called Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez, who started on the bench over the weekend.

Trent Alexander-Arnold gave the Reds an early lead with a delightful free-kick in the seventh minutes.

Mohamed Salah gave the hosts breathing space shortly after the interval, which proved to be the final goal of the clash.

Ajax Amsterdam  1-6 Napoli

Napoli maintained their perfect winning record at the top of Group A after battering Ajax Amsterdam 6-1 courtesy of a brace by Giacomo Raspadori at Johan Cruifjj Arena.

Mohammed Kudus gave Ajax an early lead but Raspadori levelled matters for Napoli on 18 minutes.

Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Piotr Zielinski gave the visitors a 3-1 lead before half-time.

Raspadori took the game away from Ajax early in the second stanza while Khvicha Kvaratskhelia made it 5-1 just after the hour-mark, as Luciano Spalletti's charges ran riot.

The Dutch side were down to ten men 17 minutes before time after Dusan Tadic got a second booking and was sent off, before Giovanni Simeone rounded off the walloping for Napoli with nine minutes remaining.

Group B

Club Brugge 2-0 Atletico Madrid

Club Brugge extended their perfect run at the top of Group B after beating Atletico Madrid 2-0 at Jan Breydel Stadion.

Kamal Sowah broke the deadlock for Brugge nine minutes before the half-time break and Ferran Jutgla doubled their just after the hour-mark.

Atletico had a lifeline after they were awarded a penalty 14 minutes before time but Antoine Griezmann crashed his spot-kick against the crossbar.

FC Porto  2-0 Bayer Leverkusen

FC Porto finally got off the mark in Group B after beating Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 at Estadio do Dragao.

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Mehdi Taremi both had goals disallowed in the first half.

Patrik Schick lined up for a penalty for the visitors on the stroke of half-time but he was denied by goalkeeper Diogo Costa.

Zaidu eventually broke the deadlock for the Portuguese side with 21 minutes remaining before Galeno put the game to bed three minutes before time.

Eintracht ended the game with ten men after Jeremie Frimpong got a second yellow card in the dying minutes and was dismissed.

Group C

Bayern Munich 5-0 Viktoria Plzen

Group C leaders Bayern Munich extended their perfect run to three matches after cruising to a 5-0 win over Viktoria Plzen after a brace by Leroy Sane at Allianz Arena.

Bayern were 3-0 up midway through the first stanza after goals by Sane, Serge Gnabry and Sadio Mane.

Sane put the game beyond doubt early in the second stanza and got his brace while Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting put the icing on the cake on the hour-mark.

Inter Milan 1-0 Barcelona

Barcelona lost for the second time in Group C after narrowly going down 1-0 against Inter Milan at Stadio Guiseppe Meazza.

Hakan Calhanoglu broke the deadlock for Inter on the stroke of halftime.

Barca thought they were level on 67 minutes after Pedri found the back of the net but the goal disallowed by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for a handball in the build-up.

Group D

Eintracht Frankfurt 0-0 Tottenham Hotspur

Group D remained wide open after Tottenham Hotspur were held to a goalless draw by Eintracht Frankfurt at Deutsche Bank Park.

Spurs inched two points behind leaders Sporting CP in second spot, with four points while Eintracht occupied third place with the same number of points.

Olympique Marseille  4-1 Sporting CP

Olympique Marseille recorded their first points in Group D after drubbing ten-man Sporting CP 4-1 at Stade Velodrome.

Trincao gave Sporting a dream start with the opener within the first minute but Alexis Sanchez and Amine Harit quickly scored from behind to put Marseille in the lead.

The fiery start saw the visitors being reduced to ten men as early as the 23rd minute after Antonio Adan was sent offf.

Leonardo Balerdi gave the French giants a two-goal cushion around the half-hour mark and Chancel Mbemba put the game beyond doubt with six minutes left.
