Promotion Race: Durban City Extend Lead

Durban City 1-0 Upington City

Durban City extended their lead at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Champions table after defeating Upington City.

Joslin Kamatuka scored the game's only goal in the second half to secure maximum points.

As a result, Durban City end the weekend eight points clear at the top of the standings.

Saturday, 29 March

Cape Town Spurs 1-1 Kruger United

Kruger United's hopes of securing automatic promotion took a knock after drawing 1-1 with Cape Town Spurs.

Thulani Ndlela put the visitors ahead in the first half, before Spurs got back on level terms in the 81st minute through Mfecane's finish.

United sit in second spot, eight points behind Durban City while Spurs remain in the relegation zone.

Casric Stars 2-2 Leruma United

Casric Stars missed the chance to move into the top three after a 2-2 draw against Leruma United.

The point sees Stars move up one spot into fourth spot, while Leruma remain rooted to the bottom of the table.

Black Leopards 2-2 Baroka FC

Black Leopards and Baroka FC could not be separated after playing to a 2-2 draw on Saturday.

Hungry Lions 0-1 University of Pretoria

University of Pretoria ended a five-game winless run after defeating Hungry Lions 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Samuel Julies got the only goal of the game from the penalty spot on the stroke of halftime.

Orbit College 0-1 Highbury FC

Orbit College's promotion hopes suffered a blow after losing 1-0 to Highbury FC.

Lulama Maqoko was the hero on the day for the visitors with his first goal of the season.

The defeat has seen Orbit drop to fifth spot, while Highbury moved up to eighth spot.

JDR Stars 2-2 Milford

JDR Stars moved up to third spot on the Championship standings despite playing to a 2-2 draw against Milford FC.

Stars now find themselves eight points behind leaders Durban City, while Milford are three points adrift of the top three.

Pretoria Callies 1-0 Venda Football Academy

Pretoria Callies got back to winning ways in the Championship after defeating Venda Football Academy 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.

Gregory Damons scored the game's only goal in the first half, which was enough to secure maximum points.

Callies move up one spot to 11th position with the win, while VFA remain in 14th and level with 15th-placed Cape Town Spurs.
