Having experienced his best ever return in the top flight in terms of goals and appearances with 14 goals, SuperSport United's talismanic striker Grobler has picked up where he left off last season.
So far, Grobler has scored eight league goals this season and is now just one goal away from equalling the club record of 57 goals set by the late great Abram Raselemane.
Grobler finished in second place in the Golden Boot running last season behind joint top goalscorers, Peter Shalulile and Gabadinho Mhango, who finished on 16 apiece.
Perhaps one of the surprise packages in the early pacesetters in the Golden Boot race is Cape Town City's mercurial midfielder Mduduzi Mdantsane, who has started the campaign like a house on fire.
With Kermit Erasmus having moved to Mamelodi Sundowns, the midfielder has lifted up his hand and has scored an impressive seven goals in eight appearances! Being handed official spot kick duties for the Citizens has further aided his cause.
