Mothwa is currently with Chippa United, having signed with the club at the beginning of the season. According to sources in the know, there have been questions about some of the documents obtained for the 24-year-old.
Mothwa was previously on the books of Baroka FC. He allegedly signed two contracts, with Polokwane and Chippa respectively.
The player has not yet been registered with Chippa, owing to allegations that there might have been fraud committed, when he obtained some of the documents involved when professional footballers sign contracts.
"It's very serious. It could even be fraud. City even managed to get a medical certificate from a Soweto surgery whilst Mothwa was in Port Elizabeth. The person needs to testify because that's his signature on the contract, but he seems to be ducking and diving. The last time there was a DC, he was off sick," a source alleged.
Polokwane City's general manager told Soccer Laduma that he has no idea about the allegations against the club.
"I've no idea about the case. I was never made aware of it. I think they (the directors) are handling it themselves," said Bellos.
