Durban City Extend Lead, Spurs Out Of Danger!

Black Leopards 2-2 JDR Stars

JDR Stars lost some more ground on the Motsepe Foundation Championship leaders after a 2-2 draw away to Black Leopards.

Banele Hlophe and Ishmael Wadi were on target for Stars, who now sit eight points adrift leaders Durban City.

Leopards, meanwhile, end the weekend in eighth position.

Leruma United 0-0 Baroka FC

Leruma United and Baroka FC could not be separated after playing to a goalless draw on Sunday afternoon.

The point sees Baroka remain in seventh position, four points adrift of the final play-off spot.

Leruma remain rooted to the foot of the standings but are two points adrift of safety.

University of Pretoria 3-2 Kruger United

Kruger United kept their play-off hopes alive with a thrilling 3-2 win over University of Pretoria on Sunday.

Khotso Malope and Thulani Ndlela put the visitors 2-0 up, before Luke Daniels and Thabo Mosadi brought AmaTuks level.

However, Kruger got the winner with two minutes remaining courtesy of a strike from Bright Ndlovu to send the side up to fourth spot.

Hungry Lions 1-2 Durban City

Durban City got back to winning ways after defeating Hungry Lions 2-1 at the  Mxolisi Dicky Jacobs Stadium.

Goals from Samelo Maseko opened the scoring with his sixth goal of the campaign before Saziso Magawana sealed the win with his first goal of the season.

The win takes City six points clear at the top of the Championship table, while Lions find themselves in eighth spot.

Orbit College 0-0 Venda Football Academy

Orbit College's promotion hopes suffered a blow after a goalless draw against Venda Football Academy.

Orbit now find themselves six points behind the league leaders, while VFA have dropped into the relegation zone.

Friday, 28 February

Cape Town Spurs 2-1 Highbury FC

Cape Town Spurs secured an important victory after defeating Highbury FC 2-1 at Athlone Stadium on Friday evening.

The visitors took the lead after 27 minutes as Siyabonga Dubula managed to head past Spurs goalkeeper Neil Boshoff.

Ernst Middendorp's charges restored parity in the second half, with substitute Mervin Boji finding the back of the net.

Spurs got the winning goal soon after thanks to a finish from Therlo Moosa, moving the side out of the drop zone.

Casric Stars 0-1 Upington City

Upington City got back to winning ways in the Championship after defeating Casric Stars 1-0 on Friday afternoon.

Veteran midfielder Jabulani Shongwe got the game's only goal for Upington.
