Meyiwa, who will soon celebrate his 19th birthday, had to be taken to the Intensive care unit following the crash on November 3rd, becoming the second Amakhosi star involved in an accident after Lebogang Manyama last month. Chiefs have now given an update on the player's wellbeing, saying that he is not out of ICU as he looks to get on the path to recovery. A statement on the club's official website said, "Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Wiseman Meyiwa is out of ICU. He is stable under the care of a specialist's supervision. The Club has appreciated all the messages of support and prayers for Meyiwa. We wish him a speedy recovery." The fact that Meyiwa was in ICU for around two weeks suggests that he suffered serious injuries in the accident, and it remains to be seen whether he will be able to play any further role for the club at all in the 2018/19 season.
