It was confirmed last week that the 27-year-old centre back would require surgery on his injury, and he has since confirmed that the operation was a success.
While it remains to be seen whether Cardoso will be fit for Wednesday evening, Chiefs did previously state that he "won't be out for long and will probably be available for Amakhosi's next match on the road to University of Pretoria".
The defender posted a picture on his Instagram of his hand after the operation, with a protective guard covering the effected finger while it heels, and it is thought that he will be able to wear the same protective gear should he be selected this week.
Meanwhile, both Tsepo Masilela and Reneilwe Letsholonyane are doubtful for the Tuks clash, though it is thought that Masilela is more likely to feature than Letsholonyane.
Itumeleng Khune and Brilliant Khuzwayo are back in contention after their hamstring injuries, and can battle it out with Reyaad Pieterse for the number one spot in Steve Komphela's side.
