KAIZER CHIEFS

In the three months since he was announced as the Kaizer Chiefs coach, Nasreddine Nabi has had plenty of training sessions to see the squad at his disposal and lots of room to experiment in the friendly matches. The evidence so far is that around 10 players are not particularly part of the plans for the season ahead. The only way that can change is if one of the fringe options steps forward and forces the coach to change his mind, or there is a dramatic loss of form or an injury crisis. Who are the 10 players in question, and what is their potential route back into the thinking of their Tunisian-Belgian coach?

SIYA SPECIAL

As Mamelodi Sundowns wrapped up their seventh successive league championship in early May, posting an impressive 23-point advantage over runners-up Orlando Pirates, the debate that has been raging on unabated is the club's loan policy. Are the Brazilians gaining an unfair advantage and weakening the rest of the clubs by loaning out most of their players to the opposition, then prohibiting those players from competing against them? We break it down for you.

RELEBOHILE MOFOKENG

Relebohile Mofokeng is the first teenager in South African football history to have scored last-minute goals in two consecutive cup finals, and that on its own says a lot about his unbelievable talent. To think that he is an influential member of the Orlando Pirates squad at only 19, Mofokeng deserves special praise as Soccer Laduma looks back at how it all started for the young star, speaking to different figures who have watched the youngster grow.

Daylon Claasen

Not many players can boast that they were on the verge of joining Everton and Anderlecht during a very successful 17-year career, but Daylon Claasen can. The midfielder not only fulfilled his dream of becoming a professional footballer but took it one step further by enjoying a wonderful career that saw him ply his trade in the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Belgium, and Egypt. Now back at the club where he started his career, the 34-year-old looks back on his time abroad while revealing his ambitions to help Cape Town Spurs gain promotion to the Betway Premiership.

International Feature

With Acacio Santos boasting an educational journey that saw him cross paths with some of football's finest managers, including the likes of Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola, the 44-year-old has picked up knowledge that has profoundly shaped his coaching philosophy and the person he is today. In part two of this interview with Soccer Laduma, the Portuguese coach reveals how his way of viewing football was shaped by a former Barcelona fitness coach, opens up on reports that he was recommended for a job by Mourinho, and also dives deep into the tough choices that had to be made regarding the Nigeria national team.
