In This Week’s Edition Of Soccer Laduma

In anticipation of this week's 1372nd edition of Soccer Laduma, we preview some of the features included. The latest edition will be available at your nearest outlet on Thursday, 2nd May 2024.

NEDBANK CUP PREVIEW Feature

Chippa United will host current holders Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup semi-final. The following day in-form Stellenbosch FC take on log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns. We spoke to a few people about each team's chances of reaching the final or even winning the Cup.

KAIZER CHIEFS Feature

Last weekend, Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Mduduzi Shabalala scored a winner against SuperSport United, his first goal of the season. After being sidelined by Molefi Ntseki with just one start in 13 matches to begin this season, the risk of stagnating and losing motivation was possible for the 20-year-old. In this feature, we take a look at his best position, how he compares to his competition for the No. 10 role and whether coach Cavin Johnson will give him a run of games in that position.

SAFA SIYA SPECIAL

Eyebrows were raised when the Special Investigative Unit of the Hawks raided SAFA House, confiscating laptops and hard-drives of the SAFA CFO. The items have since been returned but the action left no doubt in the minds of football followers that all is not well within the football's controlling body. This does not bode well for the organization as it should be preparing for two upcoming high profile 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches. The Siya crew went digging.

Washington Arubi Interview

SuperSport United goalkeeper, Washington Arubi, has been involved in the Beautiful Game for over 18 years. Even though footballers are considered past their sell-by-date once they reach the 30-year mark, the 38-year-old feels renewed and rejuvenated, so much that he even believes that he could surpass the mark set by Italian Gianluigi Buffon, who retired after 45 years. In this interview with Soccer Laduma's, the Zimbabwean international reveals the secret of his longevity in the game and gives his honest opinions on Kaizer Chiefs.

International Interview

Mamelodi Sundowns legend Teko Modise has offered us his expert opinion on Spanish football amid another thrilling LA LIGA campaign. 'The General' sat down with Soccer Laduma for an insightful discussion regarding Spain's top flight, Real Madrid stars Luka Modric and Jude Bellingham, and FC Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez.

Revolving Column

This week, we hear from former Mamelodi Sundowns player, Phelelani Ntshangase, as he reflects on the CAF Champions League semi-finals.
