In This Week’s Edition Of Soccer Laduma

In anticipation of this week’s 1419th edition of Soccer Laduma, we preview some of the features and interviews included. The latest edition will be available at your nearest outlet on Thursday, 10th April 2025.

NEDBANK CUP PREVIEW

This Sunday, we find out which two teams will contest the Nedbank Cup final. We have Orlando Pirates against Marumo Gallants at Orlando Stadium before Mamelodi Sundowns host Kaizer Chiefs at Loftus Stadium. We can’t ignore the elephant in the room of a potential Soweto Derby cup final for the first time since 2015. There’s also a potential Sundowns versus Pirates showpiece or we could see Siwelele Sa Marumo continue their fine recent habit of being a cup team. It’s all to play for on a Super Sunday of sorts. We look at the key battles, crucial talking points, tactical conundrums for the coaches, and of course, Chiefs’ decadelong drought!

JOSE RIVEIRO

The moment Orlando Pirates supporters were dreading finally came to light when the club announced that head coach Jose Riveiro would not be staying on when his contract expires at the end of the season. It’s a big blow for the Buccaneers, considering how well Riveiro has done as head coach. Not only has he won trophies, but youngsters have been introduced in the first team and some of the more experienced players have been able to take their games to another level. Soccer Laduma looks at Riveiro’s journey at Pirates and what the Buccaneers will miss once he is gone.

DINO NDLOVU

Soccer Laduma has introduced a new feature called ‘The Business Minds Of Footballers’, which will go behind the scenes to explore the different types of businesses current and former footballers have ventured into. In the first edition of this feature, we sat down with former Bafana Bafana striker Dino Ndlovu, a few weeks before he signed a deal with Marumo Gallants in the Betway Premiership, to talk about football and business, giving his honest opinion on both subjects.

Also In Issue 1419…

Xolani Ngcobo

Royal AM goalkeeper Xolani Ngcobo has been the backbone of the team for the past three years. From his early days after joining the club to the current challenges, Ngcobo has experienced more ups than downs. In this interview with Soccer Laduma, the experienced goalkeeper opens up about the emotional rollercoaster he has endured during one of the most turbulent seasons in the club’s short top flight history. The shot-stopper also reflects on the highs, the lows, and the limbo in between, revealing how he stays motivated despite the cloud of uncertainty hovering over the club’s future.

International Feature

Just a few seasons ago, Haashim Domingo won three league titles, the MTN8, the Nedbank Cup, and the Botola Pro title with Mamelodi Sundowns and Raja Casablanca, respectively. Now, the 29-year-old finds himself battling relegation with Cape Town City in the club’s most difficult campaign. In this interview with Soccer Laduma during the inaugural SportPesa Cup in Cape Town, the playmaker shares insights on the future of the Mother City club.

Revolving Column

This week we hear from former Marumo Gallants coach Dan Malesela on Amajimbos’ qualification for the U17 World Cup.

Siyagobhoza

In this week’s edition of the popular Siyagobhoza section, Fiacre Ntwari’s Kaizer Chiefs future hangs in the balance, Teboho Mokoena enquiries in Europe growing, and Nasreddine Nabi on thin ice at Chiefs.
