Ajax Cape Town's U19 side has progressed from the semi-finals of the 2013 Aegon Copa Amsterdam Cup and are set to face German side, Borussia Mönchengladbach, in the final.
The Cape-based side knocked Brazilian side Fluminense out of the tournament to advance to the final with a 1-0 win, courstey of a goal from Michael Kwong. Borussia Mönchengladbach defeated Cruzeiro, also from Brazil, 3-1 in the the first of the two-semi-finals earlier today, to secure their place in the final.
Ajax did face Mönchengladbach in the group stages of the competition, with the game having ended all square at 1-1. The final is, however, expected to be a complete different affair with the title of 2013 Aegon Copa Amsterdam Cup champions up for grabs.
The Urban Warriors have already secured silverware this season, after they clinched the 2013 U19 Metropolitan Premier Cup in April, and will now be aiming to add to that success.
Considering the current crop of promising talent in Ajax's youth sector, the Urban Warriors seem to have a bright future lying ahead.
