Fans have had plenty to say on Amakhosi's switch from Nike to Kappa, with a number of them mocking a so-called 'downgrade' and others questioning whether the Italian brand can live up to the kit design expectations at the Soweto giants.
The story "Kappa: We'll Make The Best Kits Chiefs Ever Had," where Kappa outline their expansive plans for Chiefs, produced mixed reactions from SL's readers:
"Chiefs supporters are loyalists, badly designed or not, they will buy it," says Shikabala.
"From Nike to Kappa, for a big brand like Chiefs that's a downgrade.." says lebele26.
"Nike has been nothing but a disgrace to the brand, all these years, giving us rubbish jerseys, welcome back Kappa," says tm18768.
Sticking with Amakhosi, the club is reportedly targeting 22-year-old SuperSport United defender Luke Fleurs, who recently extended his contract at Matsatsantsa.
The story "What's Next For Chiefs After SuperSport's Response To Fleurs Bid," which made it clear that Chiefs will have to dig deep in their pockets to secure the services of the promising baller, saw readers express a myriad of thoughts on the matter:
"Hayi, it's always the case, anyway, what was Chiefs going to do with another centre back, they have plenty. Chiefs must just close their eyes, and go for both Modi and Mayo, players who can really win games for them, but eish, both Arrows and City want to be paid for their players," says mthunzijack7.
"Its known that Supersport, Hunt, agents, team Bosses and Sundowns are against seeing Chiefs succeed. Chiefs used to get players fairly during its heyday. They never opted for weakening the oppositions in order to succeed," says Mr Soccer Enthusiast.
"This is just the "beef" between SSU and Chiefs. SSU will never make free-flowing business with Amakhosi. When the team returned to training, the boy was told to stay away from training - and Hunt confirmed it.
"When Chiefs upped their interest, they decided to tie him down and entrenched ridiculous clauses in his contract. Chiefs can still do better without the boy, though it would have been good to have him on board considering his age. If it were Sundowns that wanted him; Matthews was gonna have coffee with Tlhopi Motsepe!" says thami.tiki0503.
