The release date for EA SPORTS FIFA 21 has been announced, and unfortunately for fans, it won't arrive in September as has been the case in recent years.
You won't have to wait much longer than that though, with pre-orders of the game now available for the launch date, which will be on Friday, 9 October 2020.
The game will launch on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC, and although there are not many details on the new innovations and gameplay as yet, there has been info provided on the various editions on offer.
If you plan on upgrading your console by purchasing the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X later this year, you will be happy to know that you'll get the digital version of FIFA 21 for the next gen console for free when it releases.
Also, if you are getting the console for Nintendo Switch, it has been confirmed that it is a "Legacy Edition" which means it hasn't changed much in terms of gameplay or visuals aside from kit and squad updates. Unfortunately, this means it is basically the same as FIFA 18 on the console.
Fans of the series should keep an eye out for more information from the developers in August, where they intend on showcasing some of the changes and new features.
