AmaZulu striker Augustine Kwem is believed to be at a crossroads with his contract set to end next month with no clear indication regarding his future.
Despite being a regular feature and managing over 25 games in all competitions for Usuthu this season under coach Pablo Franco Martín, the Nigerian forwards doesn't know yet if the KwaZulu-Natal club wants to keep him.
Kwem joined Usuthu in July 2022 from TS Galaxy and has pretty much been one of their go-to man for goals. He has scored seven during the current campaign in what has proved a tough maiden year for Martin, but whether that will be enough remains to be seen.
Siya sources have informed the crew that Kwem and his representatives have sought answers to be in a comfortable position for the future, however, they have been met with the same answer many in limbo at Usuthu have been receiving.
Soccer Laduma has reported on several occasions that AmaZulu took a decision early in the year to wait until the end of the 2023/24 campaign to open talks with players who were nearing the end of their contracts.
The list keeps growing, with big names like captain Veli Mothwa, defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele, midfielders George Maluleka and Ben Motshwari as well as Kwem now joining the queue to meet with the hierarchy.
It's understood Kwem would not be short of suitors should he become available as a free agent, but for any talks to take place the player wants to first learn his fate at Usuthu.
