It will become clearer in the coming days whether Sekhukhune United are able to hold on to midfielder Kamohelo Mokotjo by triggering the option on his contract.
The Siya crew, however, has established that the player with more than 20 appearances for Bafana Bafana has attracted interest abroad.
Mokotjo has already spent several years in Europe and in the USA during his impressive career, which began at the SuperSport United academy before he joined Feyenoord in the Netherlands when he was only 18.
He then continued to make his name in the Dutch Eredivisie on the books of PEC Zwolle as well as FC Twente prior to his big career move to Brentford in the English Championship. Mokotjo then joined FC Cincinnati in August 2020, becoming one of the designated players in the Major League Soccer at the time.
Sekhukhune threw the midfielder a lifeline in January last year after he'd been sidelined by injury and had returned to Holland for rehab with his old club, where sources indicated that he was hoping to land a contract there.
The 33-year-old has played a key role in securing Babina Noko's place in the Top 8 this season while they were also juggling CAF Confederation Cup commitments.
Soccer Laduma has been informed his 36 matches across all competitions during the campaign that is drawing to a close has piqued the interest of some of his former employers in the Netherlands, but Sekhukhune still have his fate in their hands.
