While he has been touted as one of the brightest prospects at the club, the Siya crew can confirm that SuperSport United are understood to be lining up a long-term deal for teenager Neo Rapoo.
The 18-year-old is a product of the Matsatsantsa academy, and was promoted to the first team aged just 17 back in 2022, following his displays in the club's DStv Diski Shield side. Gavin Hunt, Soccer Laduma understands, has earmarked the defender as a suitable understudy for the veteran duo of Onismor Bhasera (37) and Lyle Lakay (32).
As a result, talk in the SuperSport corridors is that the club plans to hold onto the player in the long-term, by offering him a brand-new contract similar to what they have done in the past with the likes of Teboho Mokoena and Thapelo Maseko, both of whom have since been sold by the club.
According to information made available to this publication, a five-year deal is being discussed for the teenager, which will consist of three years plus an option to extend for a further two.
Injury has meant that Rapoo is yet to feature for Hunt's side this season, although indications from sources are that the player is on the mend and is therefore set to be included in the fold in the near future.
