The Siya crew has been led to believe that SuperSport United are looking to hold on to goalkeeper Washington Arubi.
Arubi joined SuperSport before the start of the season after his former club Marumo Gallants were relegated from the DStv Premiership last term.
The Zimbabwean international signed a one-year deal with Matsatsantsa until June 2024 and the contract has an option to extend for a further season.
Indications are that management has been happy with the contribution of the 38-year-old as back-up to number one shot-stopper Ricardo Goss and they want to keep him.
Arubi, who turns 39 in August, has made eight appearances in all competitions for the Tshwane outfit, with most of them coming in the CAF Confederation Cup.
SuperSport see the veteran goalkeeper as a valuable member of the squad because of the guidance he brings both on and off the field, as well as his ability to step up when called upon by head coach Gavin Hunt.
The club is expected to take up the option in his contract and keep him for at least another year. Goss, meanwhile, could make a return to his parent club Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of the season. He signed a two-year loan deal from Sundowns and the Premiership champions are interested in bringing him back on board.
