SuperSport United are ready to hand experienced defender Thulani Hlatshwayo a new contract that will keep him at the club for at least another season.
The Siya crew has previously reported that SuperSport want to give the former Orlando Pirates player a new deal, with his current one expiring at the end of June.
It's now understood that Superport have prepared a new deal for the player, and it will be signed in the near future. It's believed that the deal would be a one-year contract for the 34-yearold, who joined Matsatsantsa in 2022.
SuperSport are determined to hold onto the former Bidvest Wits captain because of the experience and knowledge he is able to pass down to defenders such as Bilal Baloyi and Ime Okon, the two young defenders who came through the DStv Diski Challenge side this season.
Hlatshwayo, who struggled with an ankle injury towards the end of last year, has made 28 appearances in all competitions for the club this season, proving to be Gavin Hunt's most trusted centre back.
It's believed that SuperSport would consider giving the player a role at the club once his playing career comes to an end, though nothing has been confirmed as yet regarding that.
