The Siya crew has been led to believe that SuperSport United are looking into the possibility of signing Cape Town Spurs striker Ashley Cupido.
The striker is understood to have attracted interest from the big three clubs in Gauteng, but SuperSport are set to express their interest in the player, as they look to bring in a younger forward for the long term.
As things stand, the club is banking on 37-year-old Bradley Grobler as their striker in the starting line-up, while Etiosa Ighodaro is on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns and Terrence Dzvukamanja has not quite found scoring form since signing for the club this season.
At 22, Cupido is seen by Matsatsantsa as someone who would fit into their system, with a group of young players they are looking to build for the future.
With Spurs facing the possibility of getting relegated at the end of the season, the club are expected to cash in on one of their most prized possessions and will probably look at the best offer, though they are going to consider where the player wants to be next term.
The national U23 player has made 23 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals and contributing one assist. The last few weeks of the season will be important for the attacker as it could determine where he will be playing his football next term.
