SuperSport United CEO Stan Matthews has categorically denied any current interest in a Moroka Swallows striker, despite rumours linking the forward to the club, the Siya crew investigates.
As SuperSport look ahead to the departure of Mamelodi Sundowns striker Etiosa Ighodaro at the end of the season, speculation has been rife about potential replacements.

The Siya crew reached out to Matthews to verify if Malawian player Frank Gabadinho Mhango is on their radar.
"He (Mhango) is under contract at Swallows so has never been an option to consider. Also, he was offered to us in August and we declined the move then when he was free. So I'm not sure who is pushing this supposed interest," Matthews told Soccer Laduma.
This response comes amid reports suggesting that SuperSport had reignited their interest in Mhango, following a previous pursuit during his tenure at AmaZulu FC before his move to Swallows.
Despite the club's history of interest in Mhango, particularly highlighted by his impressive season under coach Gavin Hunt at BidVest Wits, Matthews' comments put to rest any speculation about an imminent move.
Siya sources have indicated how Mhango could have been linked to SuperSport in the first place.
"Last season they couldn't get him and they ended up getting Etiosa (Ighodaro ) on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns. You know he had one of his best seasons under Gavin Hunt at BidVest Wits and he knows how to use him. So there could have been a reunion at the start of next season," the Siya source stated to Soccer Laduma.
Furthermore, Swallows' financial situation was rumored to potentially facilitate Mhango's departure, with the club possibly looking to sell the player before he becomes a free agent, according to a second Siya source.
"This could be the right time for Swallows to cash in on Mhango. He signed a two-year contract and it's running until June 30, 2025. So Swallows can sell him before he becomes a free agent in December this year and signs a free pre-contract with a team of his choice," the second Siya source noted.
Despite the speculation, Matthews' explicit denial emphasizes that Mhango is not currently being considered as an option for SuperSport United. The 31-year-old striker has been a key figure for the Dube Birds this season, featuring in 27 games and scoring seven goals, showcasing his potential value to any PSL team.
