Mamelodi Sundowns might have to think about a significant cash injection if they accept a potential lucrative offer for their in-form striker Iqraam Rayners from Scottish giants Rangers, the Siya crew has been informed.
As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, Rangers have shown interest in the former Stellenbosch FC striker and have been monitoring his progress closely.

Sources close to the club have now indicated that Rangers are believed to want to make a substantial bid of around R55 million for the Bafana Bafana forward.Insiders added that while this presents an attractive opportunity, Sundowns could face a challenging decision about Rayners' future given the serious numbers that might be involved.
"It's true the offer is there and it's around R55 million but you know it's the Sporting Director (Flemming Berg) who deals with such things. He is the one in charge of the dealings at the club and the others do contracts and daily running only. But as far as the outgoings and the incomings are concerned, it's the Sporting Director and the offer came through his office but it's there," the source told the Siya crew.
A second insider mentioned that Rangers are now awaiting a counter offer or asking price from Sundowns before proceeding further.

"If Sundowns will counter that offer or they can name their price tag if they are interested. Because it doesn't mean the offer that Rangers have tabled or offered is the final one. So, any deal still remains in the hands of Sundowns as they have the final say. But as things stand now they are not ready to let their top striker go just after signing him this season. Even though the R55m offer is there it's not clear cut that a deal would happen," the second insider stated.
Since joining Sundowns at the beginning of the season, the 28-year-old Cape Town-born striker has featured consistently and been in impressive scoring form in the Betway Premiership, the Carling Knockout, the CAF Champions League and even at international level for South Africa.
