With Bafana Bafana winger Oswin Appollis continuing to shine both in the national team and at club level, the 23-year-old remains a sought-after player in Mzansi, with indications that Orlando Pirates could be at an advantage in the race for his signature.
As Bafana completed a successful Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign during the recent FIFA international week, Appollis showed his class again as one of the influential players in Hugo Broos' team.

The Cape Town-born player started in both matches against Uganda and South Sudan respectively and played a big role in the back-to-back victories, capping off his inspiring performances with an assist for Iqraam Rayners' goal in the 3-0 win in the Mother City on Tuesday evening.
Having been linked with clubs locally and abroad since the end of last season, including Kaizer Chiefs who are understood to have not given up in the chase for his signature, Appollis' employers at Polokwane City are likely to be inundated with enquiries again that another transfer window is looming.
Though indications are that the talented player is unlikely to make a move in January, Chiefs and other top PSL clubs like Pirates are understood to be keeping tabs on him.
"Appollis is a player that any top team would like to have in its squad and the club (Pirates) is no exception. It's possible (for the deal to happen), although it may not necessarily be now (in January)," said the source.

"What I know is that Polokwane City's relationship with Pirates has improved a lot in recent times. That could put Pirates in an advantage if they decide to make a formal offer for the player's services," said the source.
Another source added, "Anything can still happen as we are talking about an exceptional player who is in demand here. Remember that there was talk of him attracting interest from elsewhere in Africa as well, and therefore you can expect a surprise on who Polokwane will decide to sell to when they do."
