Orlando Pirates defender Olisah Ndah, who was unfortunate to score an own goal against old foes Kaizer Chiefs on 25 February this year, has well and truly become the forgotten man at the club, and there are concerns about where his future could lie.
According to Siya sources, that own goal was not well-received by the hierarchy, who, of course, have never taken kindly to losing to their bitter rivals, and since then, the dreadlocked player has seen little to no action at all in the famous Black and White colours.
Ndah had been coming from a long layoff when he came on in the 65th minute, shortly after the Buccaneers had been reduced to 10 men following a red card to captain Innocent Maela for a professional foul. In the 89th minute, he headed the ball into his own net after miscommunication with goalkeeper Sipho ChaineÉ and that seems to have been the start of his troubles at the Houghton-based side.
It was a result that caused so much anger among the Ghost faithful, that Ndah revealed in Sitting with Stan, a TV show, that he received death threats on social media after the match. And it appears it was not only the spiritual owners who did not take too kindly to the developments of that fateful day, and now the player's future with Pirates could be in the balance.
In fact, information making its way to the Siya crew's desk indicates that the Nigerian-born man is pushing for an exit, hopefully before the close of the current transfer window.
With the Super Eagles having qualified for next year's Afcon, the lanky defender will be keen to be part of the final squad, but will know that without game-time at club level, that will be as hard as selling ice to an Eskimo.
