Baroka FC, a team aiming for promotion to the Betway Premiership from the Motsepe Foundation Championship, is actively working to build a formidable squad.
Insiders close to both Baroka FC and a promising young player have indicated that the club has shown interest in 20-year-old striker Kholwani Sishi from Richmond, KZN, who recently won the top goal scorer award at the Khaba Cup.

The Siya sources added that Sishi, who possesses a physique reminiscent of former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates striker Sphelele Mthembu, scored six goals in five matches, attracting attention from Baroka FC and Orbit College in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
"Yes, he is young but very good. The Motsepe Foundation Championship will be like a stepping stone for him. He can even play in the Betway Premiership if given the opportunity to play there. But, you know, Baroka were the first ones to see him and this could be a very good move for him. But you should know that Orbit College are also interested in the player but he is at Baroka FC right now and I don't think they want to disturb him," the Siya source stated.
The Siya crew contacted Baroka FC head coach Joel Masutha, who confirmed the presence of Sishi and praised his abilities.
"Yeah, he is here. He is short but very decent. An intelligent striker with a great first touch. We haven't been doing much since he arrived as we are maintaining the level of fitness for the players but you can see that he has an eye for goal and he is a decent striker," Masutha told Soccer Laduma.
