Sekhukhune United appear to have made a decision on the future of Kamohelo Mokotjo, the Siya Crew has been informed. Following his arrival at Babina Noko in January last year on a short-term deal, Mokotjo had his contract extended by one more year at the end of last season.
Despite being an important member of the Sekhukhune squad, having featured in 19 league matches out of the 20 for the team, indications are that the experienced midfielder is unlikely to get a new contract.
"With Kamohelo Mokotjo, it's more about his choice and it seems like he has other offers. There's been interest in the player locally and abroad. AmaZulu is monitoring the situation closely. At this stage, Sekhukhune aren't looking at extending the player's deal further," said the source.
Mokotjo spent more than a decade overseas and made a lot of contacts over the years, and indications are that he could be willing to return to one of the leagues abroad, should an opportunity arise although age might be a big factor as he turned 33 last month.
