Kaizer Chiefs are set to secure the future of one of their promising talents for a significantly longer period than initially anticipated.
The player in question, young striker Wandile Duba, will not be making a move away from the club during the off-season, contrary to earlier reports.

Siya sources close to both the player and the club have indicated why things have changed and that the current technical team, led by interim coach Cavin Johnson, has strongly recommended that the 19-year-old should neither be loaned out nor released.
Despite interest from clubs like AmaZulu FC and Cape Town Spurs, as previously reported by the Siya crew, it has been advised that Duba should remain with Chiefs on a long-term contract starting from next season.
"The boy is not going anywhere as the technical team has recommended that he should stay. What they see in training has given them the sense that they can't lose such a good young player and that's why they have even extended his contract with another four years," said the Siya source.
"His current contract was coming to an end in June 2025 but now it will run until June 2029. Everyone at the club is happy with him and his progress and that's why it was not hard to agree with what the technical team recommended to management to keep him for longer," the source told Soccer Laduma.
A second Siya source highlighted the club's intention to retain its young talent, learning from the practices of other teams like Stellenbosch FC and Mamelodi Sundowns.
"Each and every time they are learning from other teams and they want to make sure that they don't lose their own products to other clubs. They are also learning from Sundowns and Stellenbosch. That's why they have agreed to keep Wandile (Duba). Yes, they were looking at loaning him out but that won't be happening any more," said the second Siya source.
"That's why he has also been given a long term contract for four years. They believe in him and will give him more chances to play. He is a good striker and age is on his side. He is just 19-years-old," the source observed.
Promoted from the DDC team in January 2023, Duba has so far played seven games this season, scoring one goal. Soccer Laduma reached out to Chiefs for comment, but no response was received by the time the story was published.
Chiefs' commitment to Duba reflects the club's strategy of nurturing and retaining its young talent. This expected move not only secures Duba's future at the club but also signals Chiefs' confidence in his potential and their long-term vision for building a competitive squad.
