How Ndah Missed Out On Serie A & MLS

How Ndah Missed Out On Serie A & MLS

Agent Mike Makaab has spoken about how injuries have affected his client Olisa Ndah, especially during times when there is genuine interest in his services from clubs abroad.

Orlando Pirates' Nigerian defender has been out nursing an injury, missing all of his club's matches in April, but looks set for a return to the side in the near future, as reported by the Siya crew.

Ndah has had quite a few spells out on the sidelines with injury and it always seems to come at a time when he is on a good run of form. Since returning to the side in the MTN8 final in the first half of the season, Ndah has been a mainstay at the heart of the Pirates defence, playing well alongside Tapelo Xoki.

But, as has been the case before, the 26-year-old has to work his way back into the team once he is fully fit to play.

Makaab spoke about how his injuries have at times hampered his progress, with clubs abroad often sniffing around to see whether they can bring him on board.

"He is very unfortunate. Every time Olisa seems to find his best footing, he ends up with these niggling injuries. Thank God (they are) not serious, but they are disruptive. They disrupt your rhythm as a footballer. Let me tell you; when Olisa has been playing and consistently doing well, we've had real interest from clubs outside our borders," Makaab said to the Siya crew.

"This is not just talk. There was interest from the Italian Serie A. There was interest from the MLS. There was interest from Belgium. So, there's been real interest in him. Sadly, he has not had this consistent run of games where he has been able to show what he did when he first came here to South Africa. But, like all footballers, you go through a period of all these unfortunate things. God willing, everything will settle and soon we will see the best of Olisa. He still has another two years (left on his contract) after this (season)."
