Despite not yet breaking into Mamelodi Sundowns’ senior team, some of the club’s DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) players are gaining recognition, with interest coming from international clubs due to their impressive displays.
Insiders at the Brazilians have indicated that one of their standout DDC stars, midfielder Gomolemo Kekana, is believed to be closely monitored by a top Dutch club that has been following his development.

"There are several players from the DDC who have attracted interest from other clubs whether locally or abroad. But what I can tell you is that there is a Dutch club that has enquired about Gomolemo (Kekana). He has been doing very well and it's not surprising that there is this interest. His future looks great," the Siya source stated.
A second insider stated that Sundowns are on the verge of offering the 18-year-old a senior team contract as they see him as a potential replacement for Teboho Mokoena, who has himself attracted European interest.
"They regard him as the rightful replacement for Teboho Mokoena and that's why he has been training with the senior team to get used to the environment as they prepare him for his promotion with a lot of European interest in Tebza as well. But now there is Dutch interest in him which makes things a bit complicated for the club," the second source told Soccer Laduma.

Kekana, who has represented South Africa at both Under-17 and Under-20 levels, also gained attention after being part of the Carling Black Label All-Star team last December, where they defeated Magesi FC 3-0.
As Sundowns balance their plans for Kekana’s promotion to the senior team with growing international interest, his next career step could be pivotal for both the club and the player.
