Motupa Set For Top Flight Return?

Motupa Set For Top Flight Return?

The Siya crew has been led to believe that Gift Motupa will be back in the DStv Premiership next season, following his short spell with Baroka FC.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns striker is understood to have left promotion-chasing Baroka not long after joining them as a free agent a couple of months ago and is set to make a move to SuperSport United, who are understood to be interested in the forward.

Motupa was with Sundowns during the first half of the season, but was not part of first team training, before he left during the January transfer window.

After leaving Chloorkop, the 29-year-old spent some time training with SuperSport, but there were concerns with his weight, as Gavin Hunt said to the Siya crew at the time that the player had to work on his fitness.

Hunt confirmed to this publication that they would not consider signing but would be making a decision only at the end of the season. Soccer Laduma understands that Motupa could be signed by SuperSport, who are looking to bolster their squad in an attempt to have a better campaign next term.

Indications are that Sekhukhune United are also sniffing around, with the possibility of securing the signature of the former Orlando Pirates attacker.

Motupa made just one appearance for Baroka FC, as a substitute in a Motsepe Foundation Championship match against Venda Football Club.
