Kaizer Chiefs are understood to be preparing to increase their bid for Congolese striker Fiston Mayele in a renewed effort to sign him from Pyramids FC in January.
As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, Amakhosi were then noted to have made a R15 million bid to the Egyptian club, which was initially turned down.

Now, insiders close to the club have indicated that Chiefs have raised their offer by R5 million to a total of R20 million, following coach Nasreddine Nabi's intentions on securing a top striker sooner rather than later.
The Siya sources added that the Glamour Boys are determined to back their coach by acquiring the necessary players to transform the club's fortunes.
"After the TS Galaxy game, there was the usual post match meeting and that is when all the parties agreed that they have to go for Mayele again. That's why management and the board agreed that they would raise the bid for Mayele to R20m and hope Pyramids, who have been looking for between R22m to R25m, will be soft on them this time around," the source stated.

A second insider noted that the club is considering additional strikers beyond Mayele to bolster their attacking options for the rest of the campaign. This is to make sure Chiefs don't just rely on one new solution.
"You know, even if they get Fiston (Mayele) they still want at least one more striker to strengthen their forward line. The coach had on several occasions, during meetings indicated that as much as they want a number 10 and a winger their main priority is a striker or at least two strikers to help them score goals and win games. So, it could not be only Mayele but another striker as well, joining the club in January," the second source stated.
Currently, Chiefs have four strikers: Christian Saile, Wandile Duba, Ashley Du Preez, and Ranga Chivaviro. However, they have faced challenges in fulfilling the team's goalscoring objectives, with Chivaviro starting the season brightly but having faded in recent games.
Attempts to reach Chiefs for comment were unsuccessful at the time of preparing this story. As Amakhosi gear up for the January transfer window, their efforts to secure Mayele, along with other potential signings, underscore their commitment to enhancing their attacking power. With strategic acquisitions, Chiefs aim to revitalise their squad and improve their performance in the second half of the season.
