In a twist of events, the Siya crew can reveal that former Kaizer Chiefs striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana has dumped his agent in concluding a move to a new club!
It was reported by Soccer Laduma on the weekend that the Burundian has found a new club for the 2023/24 season after agreeing terms with Libyan giants Al Ahly Benghazi. The towering 25-year-old had been clubless since mid-August after he had the remaining year on his two-year contract with the Soweto giants terminated.
He had been brought to the club by top agent Rorui Frois, who sang his praises about his time in Naturena after he finished the season with eight goals from 21 appearances. In fact, Frois had been working on a move for the lankly striker, having recently told this publication that he had offers for Bimenyimana from Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
However, the latest information coming out of North Africa is that the player went on to conclude a deal with the Butchers using a different agent.
"It is true that the player has signed with Al Ahly Benghazi of Libya, but what is unfortunate is that he didn't involve his agent who brought him to Chiefs. He went on to conclude the deal with a different agent, but that is normal in football and players do those kinds of things," indicated a source.
"But nobody is holding any grudges against anyone and this is football, things like that happen all the time. The only appropriate thing to do would be to wish the player everything of the best at his new club," the source concluded.
