With Happy Mashiane believed to be open to making an exit at Kaizer Chiefs, the Siya crew understands that Chippa United have looked into the possibility of bringing him on board.
The left-footed star has previously been linked with a move away from Naturena, what with his lack of game time over the last year or two. He has struggled to get into the team, with the technical team preferring to use more experienced players at left back.
Stellenbosch FC have shown an interest in the player in the past but were unable to secure his services. And it now appears there is another club interested, in the form of the Chilli Boys. Yet to make an appearance for the Soweto giants this season, the Amakhosi development product is understood to be willing to make a move, even if it's on loan, until the end of the season.
Therefore, at this stage, a loan move during the January transfer window is possible for the 25-year-old, who is looking to get his career back on track, which can only happen when he's getting minutes on the pitch.
Mashiane's career seems to have become stagnant since the red card he received in the 2021 CAF Champions League final against Al Ahly, but with age still on his side, the Tembisa-born player still has the chance to bounce back, and a move could help inspire such a turnaround in fortunes.
