Rayners' club coach Steve Barker has poured cold water over speculation that the player could move at the end of the current season, revealing that all the club's players are not for sale.
The 28-year-old has been one of the standout players since making a return to Stellenbosch from SuperSport United, so it comes as no surprise that he is understood to have made it to the top of Chiefs' – and now Mamelodi Sundowns' - list in terms of targets.
Meanwhile, other players linked to Chiefs in the last couple of months are the likes of Veli Mothwa, Salim Magoola, Rushwin Dortley, and Ashley Cupido.
It is expected to be a busy period in the Chiefs corridors both in terms of arrivals and exits over the next few weeks as the season comes to a close. Chiefs are currently in eighth place in the DStv Premiership, and are hoping to maintain that spot going into the final match of the season against Cape Town Spurs this coming weekend.
