Agent On Mokwana: He Is Representing Benni

With Bafana Bafana winger Elias Mokwana reportedly attracting interest from the PSL's big guns, the player's camp has responded, speaking exclusively to the Siya crew.

Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates have all been linked with the 24-year-old whose rise to stardom has been continuing at Sekhukhune United with his impressive performances.

Following his return from Algeria with Bafana during the FIFA international break where he played well in both matches against Andorra and the hosts, South African football legend Doctor Khumalo spoke highly about Mokwana, speaking to the media.

Speaking exclusively to the Siya crew, Mokwana's representative Pontsho Madumo from Cream Sports couldn't hide his excitement on the latest developments.

"I think it's very encouraging for the player to hear a legend like Doctor Khumalo talking about him. It's going to motivate him to do more. It's been a while since a player has gone to the national team and did very well immediately. The jersey number he is wearing (17) represents the legendary Benni McCarthy and that's another motivation for him. He is focused and with the World Cup qualifiers coming and other matches, I think he's going to get another chance. He is very happy at Sekhukhune. The chairman and everyone at the club are very happy with his contribution," said Madumo.

"The boy is doing well. I think the first camp helped him to get ready for the most recent one. You must remember that he was called up for the camp before AFCON and he was on standby for the tournament. He could have made the cut because he has been getting game time at Sekhukhune but this is football," the intermediary said.

About reports linking the player with a move, Madumo said, "Unfortunately, none of the teams from those mentioned have contacted us. We haven't heard anything from those teams. There has been no communication between us and those teams or whoever else that might be interested in the player. We are seeing the stories in the media, but there's been nothing on our side.
