Orlando Pirates might have big plans for experienced goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane, the Siya crew has learnt.
Mpontshane has been with the Buccaneers for almost a decade, having joined the club in 2015 from the now defunct Platinum Stars.

While his playing future may be in doubt as he hasn't featured in any matches this season, Mpontshane could be rewarded for his loyalty at the club, a close source has indicated.
The Ngwavuma-born player will be turning 38 later this month, and with his contract set to end in June, the current campaign could be his last as a player at Bucs, according to sources.
"Siyabonga Mpontshane is a likeable person, and he has done a lot for the club over the years. He has been loyal and that isn't being taken for granted. He is a good guy to have in the dressing room and he is good in motivating other players," said the source.

"But with his contract coming to an end, it is unlikely that he will get a new one as he hasn't been playing much lately. Depending on his plans, there could be an opportunity for him at the club in future in a different role. He could be offered a goalkeeper coaching position or something like the team did with the likes of Wayne Sandilands and club legend Williams Okpara at the end of their playing careers," the source said.
