Ahead of the new season, Soccer Laduma caught up with former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo in an exclusive interview.
SL: Which signings have caught your eye so far in the PSL?
Mhlongo: Puso Dithejane - TS Galaxy Puso Dithejane has been a true revelation for the rockets, leaving Kaizer Chiefs DDC team under a heavy cloud and being snapped up by TS Galaxy halfway through last season, no one saw it coming that a young player like him with no first team football experience would go on to become a force to be reckoned. He also caught the German outfit Augsburg's attention during the preseason tour.

SL: Who do you think will win the league/challenge Sundowns?
Mhlongo: I believe Orlando Pirates FC will turn the tide as we've seen them collect trophies like Nedbank Cup and MTN8 Doubles, they have what it takes to go for the league title and this season I hope they achieve it.
SL: PSL set to increase prize money for league title, after Betway sponsor. Do players in general get motivated?
Mhlongo: The money factor will always be an added motivation with regards to bonuses that may change their livelihood however I think the most significant factor would be winning silverware that is a motivation on it's own.
SL: What do you make of recent trend of PSL stars signing for North African teams? I.e Elias Mokwana, Khanyisa Mayo?
Mhlongo: It's great to see our players challenging themselves across our African borders, it'll also help our national team's quest for continental glory.
