Relebohile Mofokeng has been backed to win the DStv Premiership young player of the season award by a teammate who has been thoroughly impressed with his performances for Orlando Pirates this season.
Mofokeng has been one of the stand out attackers for the Soweto giants, terrorising opposition defenders with his nifty footwork and ability to set up teammates for scoring opportunities with a neat pass.

The 19-year-old, who has been included in Hugo Broos' preliminary Bafana Bafana squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria and Zimbabwe, is currently on 35 appearances in all competitions, with four goals and six assists.
In the DStv Premiership, he has three goals and five assists in 24 and Kabelo Dlamini, the player's teammate, believes he is in a good position to win the young player of the season award.
"I call him 'Star Boy' and I believe he deserves everything that's coming his way because he is a humble boy and he is always pushing hard at training. I always push him at training, telling him that he is a top player. I am happy for him," Dlamini said to the Siya crew.
"He does (stand a chance to win young player of the season). He has done well this season and I hope he wins it."

Dlamini, who is in good form himself at the moment, explained what makes Mofokeng special, revealing that the player is brave.
"He is brave. He is not scared. He has the talent, but he also has heart. He is not afraid of anything. I think that's what makes him special."
