With Orlando Pirates expected to introduce more young players into their set-up in the near future, the Siya crew has been informed of one youngster who is likely to make a step up at the end of the season.
Following his twin brother Simiso Bophela's debut in the DStv Premiership with Pirates' first team this season, Simo Bophela is also being closely monitored for his promotion.
The midfielder is spending the 2021/22 season on loan at Venda Football Academy in the GladAfrica Championship to continue from where he left off when he played for Sekhukhune United last season in the second tier.
"Simo, just like his twin brother Simiso, is a very good player and is not far from getting promotion to the first team at Pirates. A decision was made at the beginning of the season to send him on loan to VFA and will be back at Pirates as a better player at the end of the season. He is being closely monitored on his progress and will be likely to make a step up to join his brother in the first team at the end of the season," said the source.
