Following their African Minifootball Confederation victory in September, two South African players are among 12 candidates that have been nominated for the President's Golden Award.
South Africa's mini football side romped to victory at the African Mini Championships in Pretoria, beating a much-fancied Egypt side in the final, and in doing so, securing their spot for the Mini World Cup taking place in Azerbaijan in 2025.
Whilst the collective thrived, two individuals stood out from the South African team, who are largely made up of leading five-a-side outfit Orlando Pirates Fives, who also happen to be the champions of the inaugural Soccer Laduma and Kickoff Legendary Fives tournament.

Amongst the nominees is defender Brendon Morris, who marshalled his side's backline throughout the tournament, while chipping in with a few goals himself. The former FC AK and current NB La Masia player has been heralded for his leadership and never-say-die attitude.
Another nominee is fan favourite and the tournament's top goalscorer Jose Garcia. Many will remember Garcia from his exploits with Highlands Park and Baroka in the PSL's top flight.
The duo are in contention for the esteemed African 'Ballon d'Or' and the winner will be decided via a voting system on the African Minifootball Confederation's official Facebook page.
