Innocent Maela finds himself in an unusual situation as the Orlando Pirates captain because regular game time has been hard to come by for him, so insiders have now hinted what the future might be like for the defender.
As the Buccaneers have progressed to the final of the MTN8 this season, Maela didn't get a single start, having featured as a substitute in all three matches for a total of not more than 40 minutes of playing time.

The left-back was an unused substitute in both matches in the CAF Champions League preliminaries against Disciples FC of Madagascar.
From his 25 appearances across all competitions last season, the 32-year-old had 13 starts and concerns have been raised from some sections of the fans about his limited playing time.
Despite his current situation, Maela remains an important member of Bucs' squad and in the plans as club captain, according to sources.
"Inno (Maela) is a good guy and a leader who does his job very well. He is always there to support those on the field if he is not, and that is what is good about him. At Pirates, the way it is, no one is guaranteed a place in the starting line-up, and everyone understands that. He's got the support of everyone to do well when he gets his chance to play more," said the source.
Meanwhile, Olisa Ndah has been wearing the armband in coach Jose Riveiro's team this season so far.
Speaking to blogger Mr. Nigerian Football while in camp with the Super Eagles for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda, Ndah spoke about his expectations with the Soweto giants while leading the team.

"I think it's an opportunity…I'm really excited for it. I wasn't expecting it at all. It is just an opportunity given to me by the club which I really appreciate. Yeah, I think, also getting to the final of the MTN8, I think we are going to have a great season and I'm excited," the 26-year-old centre-back said.
