Latest On Timm Amid Pirates Exit Talk

There has been update on an Orlando Pirates star who has surprisingly found himself in an unusual situation, as the club prepares to compete in the group stages of the CAF Champions League starting later this month.

In what has come as a surprise for some, Miguel Timm has found himself falling down the pecking order at the Buccaneers, despite his experience, as the likes of Makhehleni Makhaula, Thalente Mbatha and Selaelo Rasebotja have been selected in coach Jose Riveiro's team.

Timm, 32, has featured in only two matches so far this season, and both as a substitute, one in the Champions League preliminary stages, and the other in the MTN8.

While questions have been asked from some sections of the supporters about Timm's whereabouts as the midfield strongman is yet to taste action in the league, the Durban-born player is earmarked for a big role to play in the team this season, according to sources.

There has been talk of a potential exit for the former Marumo Gallants player although sources close to the Bucs camp have suggested otherwise.

"He (Timm) has got the support of the technical team and his teammates, and it is only a matter of time before he comes back to the matchday squads. He is a hard worker with a good attitude and is a professional. There is still a role for him to play in the team, especially with some important matches also coming in the Champions League," said the source.

"With the team doing well and with the young players enjoying good form, the coach is managing the squad in the best way he can, and (Monnapule) Saleng is a good case in point. He had been playing well but was recently rested for some matches to allow for others to play. The guy (Timm) remains committed and is putting in the work and is supportive to those who are playing," the source said.
