Orlando Pirates' most successful coach in the PSL era Jose Riveiro has commented on his contract with the club, which is expiring at the end of the 2024/25 season.
The 47-year-old in two-and-a-half seasons, has managed to live up to - and exceed - expectations at the Buccaneers.
Not only has he transformed the Soweto giants into one of the most entertaining teams to watch, but he has managed to deliver silverware in the process with five trophies (three MTN8 and two Nedbank Cups) to his name.
It is unsurprising though that eyebrows would be raised over the coach's contract situation, particularly from the club's fans. It has been well documented how the coach has made a personal sacrifice with his family and with just over six months to go on his current deal, it remains to be seen if Riveiro does continue with the Buccaneers.
"It's a good question. It's probably an important one for many people," he told Marawa Sports Worldwide.

"I'll give the standard answer and say right now we are in a very important period of the season. We are not even half way into the season.
"It's true that I'm ending my contract in the current season, there'll probably be a moment where we can sit down and have that conversation and let's see what happens after that, but right now it's a moment for the team and fans to stay together because we work so hard to find ourselves in the situation we are in right now – which means nothing.
"We are about to start the group stages of the [CAF] Champions League, which is a very motivational competition for us, to test ourselves at a high level. We have to grab this moment with all our strength. We are in the business of football and you never know what's going to happen but we will have a moment to talk about it, be honest about it and see what is coming," he explained.
