With Orlando Pirates announcing four new signings made by the club ahead of the 2021/22 season, we take a look at their respective market values.
The Buccaneers' marquee signing by far this campaign is Goodman Mosele. Despite being just 21 years old, the youngster from Klerksdorp is a four-season veteran, having made his top-flight debut at age 17.
So impressive has Mosele been, that at times, he was handed the Bakgaga armband ahead of his more experienced teammates, which speaks volumes about his professionalism and commitment to the game.
According to the values on Transfermarkt.com, through the years Mosele has seen a dramatic increase in his market values with his stock rapidly growing.
After making his top-flight debut at age 17 back in 2017, the highly-rated Mosele was valued at €25 000 (±R421k).
By June the following year, the 18-year-old saw a huge increase in his value as it spiked to €250 000 (±R4.3m).
After two years with the side from Polokwane, Mosele's stock continued to rise as he added the first accolade to his trophy cabinet in the form of the Telkom Knockout which Baroka won in the 2018/19 season.
Despite being heavily linked with a move to Europe, the Buccaneers managed to sway the player into switching allegiances, penning a four-year deal with the club, that saw his current market value rise to €600k (±R10.1m)
In Mosele, Pirates do not only gain a natural-born leader, but a future club captain and one of the best young prospects in the country, who is expected to excel at the upcoming Olympics which take place in August this year.
