With Relebohile Mofokeng coming off a great season with Orlando Pirates, this week's Friday Debate asks if the youngster should go overseas now or wait a bit.
Mofokeng has attracted interest from abroad since making his debut for the senior team at Pirates and there have been calls for him to go now. Soccer Laduma spoke to two individuals who gave their thoughts on what the player should do.
Hendricks Maoka - Pirates supporter
Look I also believe he should go now, as much as I still want to see him win games for us at Pirates. I believe him moving abroad at this stage will be beneficial for him in a sense that he will get a longer exposure to the big leagues. I believe this will help him get better acclimatised to the big leagues and he might end up at the top clubs at his peak.
Lucky Lekgwathi - former Pirates captain
It would be a good opportunity for him to go overseas at a young age. When you loo at players like Benni McCarthy, Steven Pienaar and Aaron Mokoena, they went overseas at a young age and I think they enjoyed their stay there. They made me money overseas, so it would be good for him to leave at a young age, so that he can learn a lot of things. Everywhere, it's Rele and this is going to put pressure on him. If he does not go, there will be more pressure on him because every team will be planning for him.
