Despite securing the 30th trophy of his career recently, Cristiano Ronaldo remains outside the 12 most decorated players in football, while Lionel Messi sits in joint-sixth place and Dani Alves equalled the record of the African leader.

Juventus and Ronaldo secured the Serie A title last weekend, the 30th title of the Portugal talisman's career, but he remains three pieces of silverware short of the 12 most decorated footballers in the game.
Messi currently sits on 34 accolades, which puts him ahead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic in joint-sixth spot, but he could still add two more titles with FC Barcelona this season after securing the LaLiga title with three games left to play. Meanwhile, they have also reached the Copa del Rey final and the UEFA Champions League semi-finals and could add more silverware.

Messi's former FC Barcelona teammate Alves has equalled the all-time record held by Egyptian Hossam Hassan after claiming the 41st senior trophy of his career on the weekend.
The 2018/19 Ligue 1 title was Alves' fifth piece of silverware since moving to Paris Saint-Germain, while he also lifted 23 trophies with Barcelona, five with Sevilla, three each with Bahia and the Brazil national team, plus another two with Juventus.
There is, though, a discrepancy in the Brazilian's trophy cabinet – his first three titles, namely the Campeonato Baiana in 2002 and the Northeast Cup in 2001 and 2002, which he won with Bahia, are regional and not country-wide competitions.
Some have even claimed that Alves has lifted 42 titles, which would make him the most decorated footballer of all time, but they also count the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship. He won the tournament with Brazil's U20 side, but this does not count as a senior trophy.
Former Egypt striker Hassan won 25 pieces of silverware with Al Ahly, 10 with Zamalek, five with his national team and one with Al Ain.
