Still In Touch With Matsemela

Still In Touch With Matsemela

Hola "Jomo", we know you are quite the character and love playing some pranks on your teammates…

Ha, ha, ha. Yeah, I am quite the character in the team.

Guilty as charged we see! So, without further ado, lets dive into it. Get funny with us.

There is one story of something that recently happened here at Magesi FC, and I thought it was quite funny. So, I was comparing the fingers of the guys in the team to see who has the biggest fingers. There is a guy in the team and I told him that he has the biggest fingers and he was denying it, ha, ha, ha. I wanted to prove to him that he indeed has the biggest fingers, so I came up with a plan….

Hmmm, man with a plan.

So, I took a glass filled with water and told him to put his two thumbs together on the edge of the table. Then I put the glass filled with water on top of his thumbs and told him to balance the glass without making it fall. If he could keep the glass up with his thumbs for a long time, then it would prove that he has the biggest fingers in the team, ha, ha, ha. I placed the glass on his fingers and he couldn't move because there was water in the glass. The water filled the glass, so he could not move anywhere and we left him there for 30 minutes. We actually have a video of the whole thing and it's even funnier when you watch it. I wish the readers would be able to see it.

Maybe we should find some new technology to put videos into the newspaper. But how did you even come up with an idea like that?

Well, you can say I am a character. What's funny is that I found him trying to lift the glass with his thumbs, but he was unable to. I felt sorry for him, but we just kept on taking a video and laughing, ha, ha, ha. It was difficult for him because he had no choice but to stand in one position. He could not move. If he moved, then the glass was going to fall and break and all that water in the glass would have been on the floor. It was such a funny moment. And we were doing that to show that he has big fingers, ha, ha, ha.

That's just hilarious. Extreme as that was, it's still a great story to start off with, so let's keep it going.

I've got another story that I remember from the days when I was playing youth football. I was playing at Stars of Africa, and I was very naughty at that time, ha, ha, ha.

What do you mean? You still are, ha, ha, ha!

Ha, ha, ha. Let me tell you the story. I called everyone into the dining area, and I had a towel with me. So, when everyone was there, I made an example of sit-ups. So, I chose the bully of the academy and told him to do three sit-ups. When he was on the third sit-up, I covered his face with the towel and told him to get up quickly, not knowing that he'll meet up into one boys' bum. An entire bum was in his face when he got up and he was so angry, ha, ha, ha. He wanted to hit us, but we all ran away!

Crazy…

One day we travelled in the bus back from a game and late at night we stopped for food and some of the other guys were still sleeping. So, once the bus stopped, the lights went on in the bus. One teammate couldn't sleep because the lights went on and he woke up and said to me, "Can't they switch the lights off?" But he was saying this to me in IsiZulu. So, I told him to tell the driver and the driver was an English-speaking guy, ha, ha, ha. So now he had to speak English to the driver. The guy raised his voice and said, "Heeeeeey driver, please out the high lights." Ha, ha, ha!

Talk about things being lost in translation, as the guy was just trying to tell the driver to switch off the lights.

Yes, he was talking about the lights above us, ha, ha, ha.

We must say, you were quite brave to prank the bully in the academy…

Ha, ha, ha. I was very naughty, so yeah. It was such a funny moment. I once went to Chicken Licken with my friend Luciano van Heerden, and it was so full that day. When we got there, we were hungry, but the line was so long. So, we ordered and sat down. We waited and waited for our food, but it was just not coming. But the line was long and I couldn't wait. I put my head down and started calling order numbers and people started standing up thinking their orders were done, ha, ha, ha.

That was another risky move, you don't know what a hungry person is capable of, ha, ha, ha. Thank you so much for your time, Jomo. We've enjoyed your stories. Keep pranking your teammates and making life at Magesi FC more interesting.

Ha, ha, ha. I won't stop pranking them. Thank you for the opportunity to share the stories.
