Durban City Move Top, CT Spurs Lose Again

Pretoria Callies 2-3 Orbit College

Orbit College moved up to within one point of leaders Durban City after edging Pretoria Callies in a five-goal thriller on Sunday afternoon.

After two successive draws, Orbit returned to winning ways, as maximum points took them up to fourth on the log, just one point behind log leaders, The Team of Choice.

The Romans were set back to 13th on the log, three points above the relegation zone.

Upington City 1-3 Kruger United

Ten-man Upington City suffered back-to-back losses after a 3-1 defeat to Kruger United on Sunday afternoon at Mxolisi Dicky Jacobs Stadium.

Kruger took the lead within the first 13 minutes and the visitors were 2-0 up after half-an-hour.

Upington were down to ten men ten minutes before the break after Victor Bakah got his second yellow card and was sent off.

United had more spaces as they raced to a 3-0 lead just before the interval.

Givemore Khupe scored a consolation goal for City with 12 minutes remaining.

The win took Kruger up to seventh on the log while Bafana Ba Gucci slipped down to 11th.

Saturday, 07 December

Durban City 3-0 Leruma United

Durban City climbed up to the top of the table after drubbing Leruma United 3-0 on Saturday evening at Chatsworth Stadium.

Saziso Magawana opened the scoring for City just after the first quarter of an hour and Samkelo Maseko doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time.

Maseko secured the maximum points for The Team of Choice with the third goal early in the second stanza and completed his brace.

City topped the table on a superior goal difference over JDR Stars, who are lying second with the same number of points.

Leruma remained second-from-bottom in the standings.

Baroka 4-2 Venda Football Academy

Baroka won their third game in a row after thrashing Venda Football Academy 4-2 in the Limpopo derby on Saturday afternoon at Global Stadium.

Banele Gama gave VFA an early lead but Ananias Gebhardt quickly equalised for Baroka.

Thuso Mogale gave Baroka a 2-1 lead in a quick turnaround with just 11 minutes on the clock.

Clyde Combi gave Bakgaga a two-goal cushion two minutes from the break and Judas Moseamedi pulled a goal back for the visitors with 18 minutes remaining.

However, Bonginkosi Makume put the game beyond doubt for Baroka four minutes later.

Bakgaga only moved up to eighth on the log and Venda remained bottom of the table.

JDR Stars 1-0 Hungry Lions

JDR Stars jumped up to second in the standings after edging Hungry Lions 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Giant Stadium.

After a goalless first stanza, Ishmael Wadi broke the deadlock for JDR midway into the second stanza and that was enough to bag maximum points for the Tshwane outfit.

The Hammerboys missed out on top spot on a goal difference in second spot while Ditau Dia Rora dropped down to ninth.

Highbury 1-0 Cape Town Spurs

Cape Town City could not win for the ninth game in a row after a narrow 1-0 loss against Highbury on Saturday afternoon at Gelvandale Stadium.

Following a scoreless first stanza, Thokozani Ngubane eventually got all the important goal for Highbury with 14 minutes remaining.

The Eastern Cape outfit climbed up to 12th on the table and The Urban Warriors remained in 14th spot, equal on points with second-from-bottom Leruma United.

Casric Stars 1-0 University of Pretoria

University of Pretoria lost their fourth game of the season after going down narrowly 1-0 against Casric Stars on Saturday afternoon at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium.

The sides were deadlocked going to the half-time break and Sphamandla Mlilo scored the vital goal for Casric midway into the second stanza.

The win took Stars up to sixth on the log while AmaTuks dropped down to tenth.

Black Leopards 1-1 Milford

Milford could not keep their top spot after a 1-1 draw against Black Leopards on Saturday afternoon at Thohoyandou Stadium.

Siphamandla Mhlongo broke the deadlock for Milford just before the break but Sibusiso Fakude levelled matters for Leopards in first-half stoppages.

The Stallions dropped down to third on the table, one point off leaders and rivals Durban City while Lidoda Duvha settled for fifth spot.
