Teams: Cape Town City v Black Leopards
Date: 02 June 2021
Venue: Cape Town Stadium
Eric Tinkler will be in charge of Cape Town City when they host embattled Black Leopards in the penultimate round of the DStv Premiership on Wednesday evening.
The match is set to begin at 17h00
Tinkler was appointed for his second spell at City with two rounds of matches remaining of the season, taking over from caretaker coach Diogo Peral, whose last game in charge was a goalless draw with Maritzburg United two weeks ago.
The stalemate against the Team of Choice extended the Citizens' unbeaten run to four matches and Tinkler will hope to break that run, as the Cape Town side need only one point to seal a top eight spot, as they currently in seventh place on the log.
In contrast, Leopards are still fighting to save their top flight status and boosted their chances of survival with a 2-1 win over Kaizer Chiefs a week ago.
Lidoda Duvha are languishing at the bottom of the log, three points behind 15th-placed Chippa United and anything other than a win could potentially confirm their relegation, provided Chippa get maximum points against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.
Leopards will also be relegated if they lose and the Chilli Boys secure a point against their Limpopo rivals.
City will be chasing a league double over the Limpopo side after claiming a 2-0 win back in January at Thohoyandou Stadium.
