A former Mamelodi Sundowns player feels it would be best for Cape Town City striker Khanyisa Mayo to stay put in the Mother City, before considering a big move in his career.
The Siya crew has recently revealed that Sundowns are interested in the 24-year-old, and it's understood that they could make a move to bring him on board next month, before the start of the CAF Champions League group stages.

Mayo is currently on four goals in the DStv Premiership, just two behind joint top scorers Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana, Peter Shalulile and Bradley Grobler.
Brent Carelse, who was on the books of Sundowns during his playing days, feels it would be best for Mayo to stay with the Citizens, for a few reasons. One, he is likely to keep getting game-time and, two, the retired Carelse does not want to see all the best players in the PSL playing for one team.
"In all honestly, he can probably go play there, but I don't think it would be a good move for him now. He has been a regular at Cape Town City for almost two seasons and I think it would be best for him to stay there and continue playing," Carelse said to the Siya crew.

"We need more of our players playing at different teams, instead of all the good players playing in one team. It also makes the league more competitive, so I think Khanyisa Mayo must stay there and maybe wait for another opportunity to go."
